Q. I don't like using my credit card online. Are there other alternatives?
A. Yes. While you should be aware that we use 128 bit encryption using
RC4 algorithm routines on VeriSign certified secure servers for all transactions (only the US military has better encryption), we do offer alternatives:

  • You may order by credit card either by FAX or via regular mail.

  • You may order by check via regular mail.

To order by credit card either by FAX or via regular mail: [Top]

  1. Add your purchases to your cart by clicking the Add to Cart button.

  2. When all of the desired items have been added to your cart, click the Check Out button.

  3. Indicate whether or not the order is shipping to Maryland (this is for sales tax reporting).

  4. Select the Pay by Credit Card Offline (Mail or FAX) option .

  5. Complete the order form with shipping info, contact info, etc. Please ensure an accurate telephone number and email address.  We will NEVER give out your contact information to outsiders (see our privacy policy).   However, we do need accurate information to contact you in the event there are any problems with your order.

    NOTE:  You do not have to fill in the credit card information at this time, but if you do it will make Step 7 below easier.

  6. Click the Submit Secure Order button at the bottom of the page - this generates an order number. Your order cannot be completed without this. 

    When the order has been completed, an order number will be generated by our system, and a completed order form will be displayed on your screen.

  7. Print the system-generated page.  If you did not fill in the credit card information in Step 5, write it legibly now, sign the form, and mail or FAX it in accordance with the instructions contained on the form.

  8. We recommend that you print a second copy of the system-generated page for your records. This will provide a reference if you find it necessary to correspond with us for any reason.

To order by check via regular mail. [Top]

  1. Add your purchases to your cart by clicking the Add to Cart button.

  2. When all of the desired items have been added to your cart, click the Check Out button.

  3. Indicate whether or not the order is shipping to Maryland (this is for sales tax reporting).

  5. NOTE: Checks received without an order number and this completed, system-generated form will be returned to the sender.

  2. Regardless of when you submitted your order, we do not begin processing it until your check is received & has cleared the bank.

Q. How do I know how much it will cost to ship my order? [Top]
A.
There are no additional charges for shipping or handling on orders over $35.  We utilize a variety of delivery methods including USPS and various ground shippers for our regular shipping and do not charge for these services for orders shipped within the domestic United States with the following exception:

  1. If you request some form of specialty, premium, or expedited shipping service.

If you require your item to arrive by a specific date. Indicate this in the "Special Instructions" window at checkout. We will select a carrier and level of service which ensures that your order is delivered by the date required. We will only charge your credit card for the actual cost of shipping.

If you desire expedited shipping, there will be an additional charge. Indicate your desire for an alternate shipping method in the Special Instructions section of the shopping cart form when checking out. The charges for the requested alternate method of shipping will be determined when your order is packed and delivered to the shipper you requested. The additional shipping charges will be applied to your credit card and will normally appear as a separate line item on your credit card statement.

Please do not inundate us with questions regarding expedited shipping. We will not research the best or cheapest method for you.

Q. Do you ship to APO/FPO addresses? [Top]
A. Yes. There is no additional charge for this.

Q. Do you ship outside of the United States? [Top]
A.
Yes. We ship anywhere in the world. When shipping orders outside of the United States, we add only the direct cost of shipping to the specified destination.

Policy for Orders Shipped Outside of the United States

  1. Orders to be shipped outside of the United States must be paid for by credit card or certified bank check.

  2. If paying by credit card, the credit card billing address and order shipping address must be the same. We do not ship orders if these addresses do not match.

  3. When we receive your order requiring overseas shipping, we determine the direct cost of shipment to you via the shipping method that you specify (regular post, ground ship, air mail, etc.).

  4. That cost is added to the order total and billed to your credit card. This will generally appear as a separate line item on your credit card statement when using a ground ship carrier with the carrier's name identifying the charge. When using the postal service, this charge is added to your purchase (purchase + cost of shipping = total amount billed) and will appear as a single charge  from the Submarine Store.

    If paying by certified check, the shipping cost is communicated to you via email so that the total amount can be sent in a single check.

Due to the high incidence of credit card fraud originating from certain areas, orders from the following countries must be paid in advance with a cashier's check in USD:

Q. Some items on my packing slip are marked "drop-ship." What does that mean? [Top]
A.
Drop-ship generally means the item will ship directly from the manufacturer. We take advantage of drop -ship arrangements to lessen the time our customers must wait for delivery of certain items. We usually employ this method for custom items because it trims both the cost and delivery time necessary for delivering your order to your door.

Please ensure that your correspondence contains your order number. The order number is a 12 digit number and it can be found on your receipt.

Q. How do I redeem a gift certificate? [Top]
A.
Simply place your order online as you normally would. When you get to checkout, select either
Pay by Credit Card Offline  or Pay by Check or Money Order by Mail. Complete the checkout information. In the comments section type: Gift Certificate and the gift certificate number. Click the "Submit Secure Order" button.

When the process is complete, a form will be displayed in your browser to print and mail. Send a copy of the printed form, along with the gift certificate, to the address indicated. If you still have a balance left on the gift certificate, we'll annotate it and mail it back to you. If your purchase is for more than the value of the certificate, either include a personal check for the difference in the amount or provide the requested credit card information where indicated on the form.

Q. My wife is meaner than a pit bull, my children are dumber than a bag of hammers, and my mother-in-law just moved in with us, what do I do? [Top]
